Tyler turns 18

Have 18 years really passed that fast? One of my favorite memories is of the day after Tyler's birth. 18 years ago, the only station that played Christmas music was FM 100 and they only played straight Christmas music 100 hours before Christmas. So on December 20, I had my cute baby boy and on December 21 I hung out in my hospital room, just Ty and me listening to FM100, watching the snow fall and staring at my new baby boy. (I know, it sounds cheesy but I loved it). Funny thing is, now that he's 18, he's still my "Christmas music listening" buddy but now we get to starting listening to it on Halloween night. For Ty's 18th today, he got to go snowboarding with Ali on probably the coldest day he could have. The wind chill was -35 degrees. Then he went for his first ever massage. Finally tonight we had a large party. . . . very large. Here's how large.

There were more shoes throughout the night.

I don't know where my son is in this. I had to climb through people on the stairs, through the entry and into the family room. Most all of them are much taller that I.

He had a good day.

Skiing

So. . . I went skiing last Friday. First time in 10 years or so. Ali and Brooke were so patient with me. Chase was so bummed he couldn't go. (his words) It was a perfectly great ski day and I stayed pretty warm. How could I not being bundled up so much? As always, Brooke being true to form, always gives us something great to laugh at. At lunch we got some hot chocolates and chili. For some reason, I didn't say anything when I saw Brooke put her hot chocolate on the edge of the table even though I knew something would happen. Sure enough, as she was gesturing about something in a story, her elbow hit the drink off the table, onto the floor and all over a man's very nice and very expensive Spider ski jacket. It's always something:).

Life goes on

Dad got married today. Pictures to come later, however, the day was perfect for Bonnie and Dad. The reception was held at the Salt Lake Country Club and the setting couldn't have been more beautiful. The country club was decorated so beautifully with Christmas so close but Mother Nature certainly helped out with snow falling all day. It was so fun to look out the window and watch the huge snowflakes and the snow covered landscape. Dad and Bonnie looked darling and so happy. I'm sure they are thrilled to have the day over as they are now probably in St. George. Tomorrow they will go to San Diego for a week honeymoon. We are all so happy for them. Hey, I now have three step brothers! That's funny.

Saturday we did family pictures. Ali's friend Courtney Winnie took them for us since our favorite photographer needed to be in the pictures with us. Court did a fantastic job and is now a second favorite photographer:). Thanks Court!
