guitar or singing

I'm a boy who loves to sing and act. but my mom (lisa) says you can only be in a play if you play guitar. i HATE guitar. there is one good thing, my mom will put me in voice lessons. so i am going to ask for your help which would you do... guitar or singing? from chase

Chase again. I'm 11 and I have a BIG secert... I still have my baby blanket. I have had it since I was born. It is now rags but I still sleep with it. I love it so much... my dad will hide it my brother will take it. It makes me so mad. The bad thing is I have only told my mom, dad, brother, sisters, everybody else in my family and now you. It sounds weird but... I still have it and I still love it. But the real reason I told you was because you don't need to hide your life "you only live once so have as much fun as you can". That's what my Grandma Hughes always said to me. Chase

BLOG ENVY...

Yes, I am green with Blog Envy. I've just been checking out what's out there and who's doing what with their blogs, and again, my lack of time and creativity are showing through. How in the world do they do it? There are so many cute and creative things out there. One of these days I promise... Anyway...

I'm thinking about yesterday. For some reason, the first time ever, I forgot it was the day to change the clocks. I was busy doing my lesson for YW and sewing little "Family Fun" bags for my Mia Maid class of 12 girls. Ali came into the craft room and said, "Mom, Dad just texted me (he was at his ward), and said to tell mom that it's 11:00". My mind starting racing. 11:00? what does that mean? What's at 11:00? What could he be talking abo...." "Oh my gosh!!! Everybody run!!!". Luckily it wasn't really 11:00 but 10:15 and I had to be to church at 10:45 to play prelude for the sacrament. Anyway, somehow, I was able to shower, make-up, hair, get dressed, grab my stuff, and get the kids out the door and be there at 10:50. However, in my frenzy hurried state, I didn't bother checking how the kids looked. You would think they are all old enough to get themselves ready and look decent. Mostly yes. However, after I had played the first two songs and went to sitdown, I asked the kids (Brooke and Chase) if they had gotten a program. No. I asked Chase to go get one for us. Mind you, we are sitting in the third to the front row. He walked all the way to the back of the chapel and then all the way to the front and as he is slipping past me I notice that his tie is neatly tied, by him, and the long part of it is down to his knees. I said to him in a whisper, "Oh, Chase! Your tie is supposed to only go to your belt buckle!" "No, mom, it's supposed to go to your knees." "No, Chase, it's supposed to go to your belt buckle." "no, mom, it's supposed to go to your knees. Just ask Ty." Needless to say, fortunately I have a 17 year old that has some sort of Tie Fashion Sense and retied his brother's tie.

I've been trying to find some good pictures of my kids on my computer and don't have many to choose from until Ali downloads them for me. But I did find this from Christmas and absolutely love it. They look so old to me. Tonight was Young Men's/Young Women's. I had three of the four there with me (I'm 1st counselor). Ali was working. Yes, Chase was at YM tonight, pretending to be a big kid. The funny thing is that in 10 months, he will legally be there! That's weird. Thank goodness it's only the kids getting older and not Rick and I. --lisa

TIME GOES TOO FAST

I just read Ali's post on her own blog. The title is Saying my sorries. Reminded me of when she was a little girl. When she would do something that would make someone feel bad we would say, "Ali, say your sorry." She would say, "I said my sorry!". Seems like yesterday. Time goes too fast. Enjoy each moment. (mainly for my cute sisters-in-law) -- lisa

Boat Boat i want a BOAT!!!!

So.. I want a boat.. all in agree-ance? is that a word if so how do you spell it? anyway I think a boat would be benificial to our family for the following reasons.
1 We would have more friends. (always a good thing)
2 We would have more reasons to get together.
3 We would all have to go on diets and we'd all look better
4 Family quality time ;)
5 Because we can.
I made a pie chart to show some stuff... ---Ali

First Blog Ever (whatever a Blog is)

I never thought I would see the day when I would use the word "blog" and actually have to ask my daughter what on earth it is and if she can set one up for me. Technology is blowing my mind. Anyway, we have to keep up on these things so here we go. Our lives have been in fast forward motion for about the last . . . 20 years. I can't believe we have been married that long. So this "post" is all about 20 years of bliss (for the most part). As those that are close to us know, we have definately been through our trials but we believe that we have learned so much from them and are cetainly better off because of them. Therefore, overall, we can say life has been blissful. It's all about the attitude. We can choose to be happy through the trials, with the knowledge that "that too shall pass" (as Great-Grandma Hughes used to say), or we can choose to muddle through it. I, personally, choose to be happy. Besides, what is life without moments of crap? Just pure joy? That'd be boring... ---Lisa
